Friday is a day to honor, remember and thank all those who have served and given so much that we may enjoy the freedoms we often take for granted, but are truly treasures. This Veteran's Day is just a little more personally special as our Matt is now officially a Veteran and we are ever so grateful he is home, safe and sound. That is our prayer and wish for each and every family who has loved ones serving and our hearts and prayers go out to the families of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. As a way of saying thank you to all our military, stop by Off the Vine on Friday and enjoy a special deal on 50 Back Beer, The Brew of the Brave! Off the Vine is also pleased to have Junius Lindsay Vineyard visiting on Friday evening offering tastings of their wines. Proprietor Michael Zimmerman named the vineyard after his grandfather, Junius Lindsay Zimmerman who settled the farm in 1894. In 1933, Michael's father, Lee Zimmerman returned to the homeplace with his new bride. A soil scientist soil scientist with the Soil Conservation Service, Michael says his father knew more about this land than anybody before or since. After living abroad for many years, Michael returned to the farm in the 1990's and has made preserving the farm for future generations his goal.
Junius Lindsay's French styled wines are all French varietals from the Rhone Valley of Southern France. The first vines planted in 2004 were Viognier
Syrah, Petit Sirah
and Roussane followed
We are looking forward to sharing these Old World fashion crafted wines with our friends.
